<text>"It came to our knowledge this date that Warden Youngblood has turned in a sixty (60) day notice with the commissioners of his leaving his job as warden of Turner County P.W.C. We do not know the reason for this action but we are pleading with you to help us keep this fine man as our warden and not let him leave if possible.
As Felony inmates of the state of Georgia most of us have been to other camps beside this one and have been under different wardens in those times. We would like to try and tell of some of the things that this man has done for us and to help us. It would be impossible to write everything that he has done as it would take to much of your time to read it all.
Sinse [sic] Warden Youngblood has been at this camp he has fed us like human beings instead of like we were a bunch of hogs rooting for what we could get and if a man gets sick then he sees to it that the man gets to a doctor and gets the proper treatment it takes to get him back in good health. The buidlign that we live in thanks to Warden Youngblood is as fine as most people on the out side but above all Warden Youngblood treats each man equal and as a human being, if a man has personal problems and needs to talk to the wards then Warden Youngblood will take time out from his family and sit here untill [sic] all hours with an inmate to try and help him and help the man to make his time and get out of prison a better man than he was when he got in prison. There is not an inmate here at this camp that would not go out of his way to do anything in this world that he possibly could for Warden Youngblood and would work for him on Saturday and Sunday if he ask us to because we know that this man is a good man and that he is going to treat us like men.
Warden Youngblood has given us an educational program as good as any in the state and he hs given us a religious program just as good as any where, also he has provided us with a sports program and did everything that he could to help us be better men and go back out in the world with a different attitude towards life so that we will not return to prison.
Sir we are begging you at this time to help us keep this fine man if at all possible, none of us want to see him leave here as he is more than needed here to keep on with the find [sic] work that he is doing here now..."
