Bill Hallman, his daughter Janette Hallman, and others at his service station and grist mill around 1947. This was located at 2633 US Hwy 41, Sycamore, GA. The building is no longer there and is currently another business and building.

The date of this photo is unknown, but one can estimate that it is after 1908, when the courthouse was built, and before 1914, when the Shingler Building was built since that is missing from the photograph.

Based on visual evidence, the photograph likely dates to the early–mid 1920s, circa 1923–1926. The presence of open-top touring cars with narrow tires and upright bodies is consistent with Ford Model T-era vehicles, which remained common until 1927.…

On the morning of January 18, 2026, Turner County experienced a dusting of the fluffiest snowflakes. Although no where near the 6 inches of 2025 from Winter Storm Enzo, it was still a sight to experience.
