Dublin Core
Title
H.E. Pate, Coroner Card
Description
This is a card from the GA Secretary of State showing the term of H.E. Pate as Coroner of Turner County from 12/12/54-1/1/57.
From Jim Lumpkin:
"I would like to share some brief information about the history of the Turner County Coroners office. Hank Pate just recently told me that his grandfather Mr. H.E. Pate was coroner from December 1954 until January 1957. It is believed by the Perry family that Charles V. Perry started serving as coroner in the late 50's (possibly 57 or 58) and served until his death in 1988. A few days after the death of Charles V. Perry, his son Edgar F. Perry, who served as his fathers Deputy Coroner, was sworn in as the Turner County Coroner. Edgar Perry served as coroner from 1988 until his death in May of 2021. I was sworn in as coroner in June of 2021 after serving as Edgar Perry's Deputy Coroner..."
