Hobbs Grocery

In this lovely painting by Patricia Brantley, dating to around 1986, we get a glimpse of Hobb’s Grocery Store in Dakota, Georgia.

Located along Highway 41 North, the store was a familiar landmark in the small community of Dakota. Remarkably, the building is still standing today, although it has become largely hidden beneath heavy vegetation.

The painting offers a small piece of Dakota’s history that might otherwise be easily overlooked.
