"Lt. Austin Scott has been liberated from a German prison camp, according to a cablegram from him received by his wife, Mrs. Mary Raines Scott last Friday. His parents, Dr. and Mrs. W.R. Scott received word Jan. 7, 1944 that he was missing in action and two days later the government notified them he was a prisoner of war.
The government wire Tuesday that Lt. Scott would return to the states early in June."
