Turner's First War Bride Arrives in Rebecca
Description
"Turner County's first war bride arrived in Rebecca late Tuesday night with her three months old baby, Herbert Michael, from Angers, France. The petite blonde French girl is the wife of Mr. Arthur Pullin [also spelled Pullen later in article] of Rebecca. Mr. Pullin who had kept in touch with his wife by telegram since she left New York City could not wait for the train to get to Rebecca...

When asked how she met Mr. Pullin, she replied, 'I was working in a cafe in Angers when he on his way to a dance stopped by. He invited me to go with him and when I refused he remained with me.
They were married at Vevles les Roses, where the bride being the center of attraction was reversed as Sgt. Pullin was the first American soldier to marry in the town."
