Title
Judge Spence Also Wants Courthouse for Turner County, c. 1906
Description
"A special term of Turner county superior court was called to order in the auditorium of the school building, by Judge W.N. Spence, of the Albany Circuit.
The judge urged the grand jury to assist the tax receiver in the equalization of tax returns so that every man would bear an equal burden of taxation. The most important portion of his charge was in directing them in assisting the ordinary in the building of a comfortable court house and jail. He suggested the county could build a $35,000 or $40,000 court house and jail by issuing bonds."
