Ashburn has seen its share of highs and lows through the years, but in 1918, our little town was earning glowing praise. More than a century ago, Ashburn was described as “one of the busiest and most progressive little cities in the Great Heart of South Georgia,” as featured in The Atlanta Journal on October 20, 1918.
Looking back through this fascinating article, filled with photographs from a time long past, reminds us just how deep our community’s story runs- and how much there is to be proud of still today, even though time marches on, businesses close, and small towns evolve.
