Church history as found on the church’s Facebook page:

“Rev. J.D. Little, buried in the New Prospect Cemetery, born: Mar. 3, 1875 & died: Aug. 16, 1958, He was the pastor of New Prospect Church in 1910 -1911 and 1913 -1914. He is the son of Rev. S.N. Little. Rev S.N. Little is one of the original founders of New Prospect and is the first preacher to pastor there. The church was started about or before the year of 1893. The earliest known burial in the church cemetery as of right now is a 4-year-old girl named Mattie Parten, Mar. 2, 1888 – Sept. 27, 1892.”
