Photos are so important, because buildings of the past may no longer exist, but their value remains. This photo is of the Eureka School.
Eureka was created during the era of segregated education and served as a place of learning for all Black students in Turner County. After the integration of the schools in the early 1970s, the Eureka buildings housed several different students and schools (Like the Turner Co. Junior High) throughout the years before it was abandoned. After years of vacancy, it was torn down for affordable housing.
