Turner County Diamond Jubilee

August 18, 2022Ashburn, Historical Documents, Rebecca, Sycamore

Turner County is 117 years old today! ðŸŽ‰

Turner County, Georgia was created by legislative action on August 18, 1905, from parts of Irwin, Dooly, Wilcox, and Worth Counties and named for Henry G. Turner.

Back in October 1980, Turner County had a week-long 75th-anniversary celebration! The Diamond Jubilee Committee created a 100-page booklet full of history, family ancestry, and so much more.

The TCP recently went through the entire book and any mention of a business, person, or anything of note was tagged. Be sure to read the booklet and search the alphabetically listed tags for a family member of the business! (warning- there are a TON!)
