A snapshot of a South Georgia family farm.

At Calhoun Produce Inc, the story is still being written by the same family. Patriarch Gerald Calhoun is often found at the tractor’s wheel, leading the farm tour or working the ground, a familiar sight around the farm. Today, generations of Calhouns help keep things going, from the adults running the operation to the youngest “unofficial greeters,” Tucker and Rhett, the great-grandsons of Gerald and Joyce.

Rhett Calhoun, great-grandson of Joyce and Gerald Calhoun.

Along the way, they’re doing more than farming. The Calhouns share the fruits and vegetables they grow, welcome visitors to the farm, and help teach the next generation about agriculture, local animals, and life on a South Georgia farm.

It’s a reminder that places like this are more than produce stands. They’re family traditions being passed down, one generation at a time. 🌱🚜🍓

Sheila Calhoun Rice can be seen most days in the store. Pictured here manning the register (with the red glasses on her head).
