Location: Monnie Street in Ashburn, Georgia
Date: August 12, 2021

Monnie Street was named after Monnie Corine Patton (January 15, 1897 – May 25, 1969), a daughter of John Robert Patton (September 13, 1859 – March 20, 1898) and Fannie McLendon Patton (September 23, 1869 – November 9, 1949). Monnie’s parents built the house located at 327 Hudson Avenue in 1896 and owned land one street over from Monnie Street and Alda Street, another street named after a Patton daughter.

Turner County Frozen Foods was built in 1947 by Gr Turner County Frozen Foods was built in 1947 by Grady M. Sconyers (1909-1968) and wife Cortez Henderson Sconyers (1908-2000). They operated it until 1950 when he sold it to John Corbett.
