Turner County Community Mural

June 9, 2026Ashburn

Location: Keith-A-Que parking lot on Washington Avenue, Ashburn, GA

Please note that the date on the photos is incorrect since this mural features the Fire Ant Festival. That event did not start until 1996 as the Wiregrass Festival, and later became the Fire Ant Festival in 1997-1998. It is estimated, based on the ages of the people in this photo, that this happened between 1998 and 2000. Unfortunately, the mural is no longer visible because it was in poor condition. It was painted over in 2024 or 2025.
